It's a Wrap!

So what do you do in yet another snow storm? I have had it! I've decided to get a wrap. Supposedly its the hottest thing on trend,so I guess I have to try..they say you lose inches and detox..here we go.

First things first you must go naked because you are about to SWEAT! First I had detox, firming, anti cellulite essential oil painted all over my body. Then I was wrapped tightly in a plastic sheet. A burrito type blanket followed. Infrared Therapy is defined as the use of "Infrared" as by Infrared lamps or heating pads to relieve pain and increase circulation to a particular area of the body. To better understand Infrared therapy, we have to have a better understanding of what type of Infrared rays we are speaking about. Infrared heat is a form of energy that is produced by the sun. Infrared divides into three Infrared waves: near or close, middle or intermediate, and far or long. Far Infrared waves are safe and used in the Infrared Body Wraps and most other Infrared light used on humans. Infrared light cannot be seen by the human eye, but we know that Infrared is present by feeling the warmth on our skin. When experiencing the Body Wrap, you'll notice that your body begins to feel like it's warming from the inside out, and that's when you begin to detox!Because Infrared helps to rev up the metabolism and increases blood flow, it only makes sense that when the body is operating in a more optimal manner that it is able to help those who use Infrared Heat to lose weight.
By helping the body to burn many calories (up to 1400) per 50 minute Infrared Body Wrap session, it is revving the metabolism with the calorie burn and, therefore, supports the body fat reduction which leads to weight loss. Other amazing benefits are skin rejuvenation, aiding in cellulite reduction and clearing acne.

I lasted the full 60 min. My back pains were gone and I was down 4 lbs. Will it last who knows? but I loved the feeling.

Journey

Never ever have I met a fragrance quite like the one I got in my birch box the other day..
I was literally transported to another part of the world. As I said in my last post, New York has been especially gross this winter. I know some people love the change in season and I know winter is necessary to kill bugs and make the world go round blah blah but I am NOT a fan. For two months ( jan and Feb) I go into autopilot and try to get through each day till I can be warm again. Till I can walk the beach and ride bikes with my family again! Till I can grab a big bowl of fruit and lay by the beach or play outside till dark with fireflies.   But till then I  have figured out a little secret.
Harvey Prince, Journey. It's not normal. Its magical, mysterious even. With notes of South Africa freesia, Japanese orange flower and Moraccan rose and hints of Indonesian clove bud, Australian sandalwood, Indian tuberose, Turkish cyclamen and Spanish mandarin I am instantly away on a magical journey... And what I really love is that I actually start to see the beauty in my very own surroundings after all!  I start appreciating the beauty even in my very own fog. Next I haaaaaave to try yogini! ( they even have one that makes you feel young!) harveyprince.com

1 jar with 100 benefits! Coconut OIL

It's been very chilly here on Long Island like 5 degree chilly and my skin is still silkier than ever! I want to share a little secret with HUUUUGE benefits! COCONUT OIL!
My obsession began almost 2 years ago when I was in the process of losing some baby weight. I switched over to coconut oil to fry my egg whites, put a little on my cinnamon toast, or even in my smoothies. I use it to bake and cook with for the babies as well. It actually just makes everything a tiny bit sweeter. I know you're probably thinking "it's saturated in fat!"
"Several studies in the past few years have suggested that saturated fats may not raise the risk of heart disease like previously thought, however, and more and more research is showing that plant-based saturated fats may have a neutral (or even positive) effect on cholesterol as compared to animal-based saturated fat, and might offer other health benefits as well."
"What sets coconut oil apart from other fats is the fact that more than half of it is made up of medium chain fats, also referred to as medium chain triglyerides (MCTs).
Unlike other types of fats (which are mostly long chain fats), these MCTs are rapidly metabolized, meaning they're more easily burned as energy and less likely to be stored as fat. MCTs have also been shown to increase metabolism slightly, and help us feel fuller, faster." You can find out more about the science of it at http://www.nola.com/health/index.ssf/2013/04/coconut_oil_when_saturated_fat.html
So with that being said my tummy was becoming more satisfied much sooner than ever before.
I then began to wonder if I could use it as a body moisturizer, it would absolutely cut costs for me. And i have this thing with mermaids so I imagine thats what they would use. My skin has never felt silkier. I put it under my eyes/lips and they glowed.  Then one day I used it in my hair. This was a little much to leave in but if you wash it out It works an amazing leave in conditioner. Some of my clients use it as a face wash. I highly recommend it for a dry skin type but THATS IT…otherwise it will definitely clog your pores.
Coconut oil is also a perfect moisturizer for your pets paws and feels great in their hair.

OIL PULLING is yet another trick of this trade. You swoosh coconut oil in your mouth for 20 minutes every morning on an empty stomach and this pulls all the toxins out of your body as well as whitening your teeth.
"Gingivitis results from the inflammation of the gums when our immune systems begin to attack bacteria that have accumulated in the plaque. So oil pulling would give us a double whammy against plaque buildup and the destruction of those bacteria. Another study showed good results with oil pulling in this regard as well."http://coconut-oil-pulling.com/
HOPE I TURNED YOU ON .......TO COCONUT OIL!
YASOUUU XOXO

Balance

Hello! My name is Ifigenia but you can call me Jenny.. It's all I've ever known. I'd like to say I'm a Greek American Princess, but that's not exactly the case. I have had to work very hard for everything in my life. Currently in my life I am a wife, a mother of 2 and a hard working professional. I am an Esthetician ( not to be confused with anesthesiologist)! Colors are very important to me and always have been. As a little kid I have always loved to modify and colorfy my face. I love colorful people and colorful foods. They do say the more beige your plate the more processed it is.  Ok now I'm going off on a tangent........ This is what you must know... My most important role is my family but my second is my career. Balance is everything. If you want it you can achieve it! Finding a balance between my colorful makeup and the dirty laundry is what keeps me going. In my blog I will talk motherhood, wifeyhood  ;) and of course....all my favorite products and beauty tips.
